What Are The NoFap Flatline Symptoms?
The flatline is a unique phenomenon that happens when people who have developed addiction related brain changes decides to give up masturbating to porn.
It can be a difficult period to push through.
So what are the NoFap flatline symptoms? The NoFap flatline symptoms are, a complete loss of libido, lack of motivation, depression, anxiety, insomnia, shriveled up penis (feeling lifeless and even colder), and a general sense of “what’s the point?”
As, you can see, unpleasant things to be sure.
How Long Does The NoFap Flatline Last?
Everyone’s reboot is unique and the flatline varies in length between individuals. It also depends on the persons porn history and how early he started his “fapping career”.
A rough, general, estimate is that the flatline lasts about 1-5 months, but again, there are too many factors involved in order to be able to give an exact answer…
…thus the big range there.
Some of those factors are…
- How healthy the individual is?
- How long his fapping sessions lasted?
- What age he started?
- What healthy habits he is doing during he’s reboot?
- Did he do a lot of clicking from, video to video, and scene to scene, or just watch couple of videos?
- Was he sexually active before he started using porn?
- Etc. etc. etc…
As you can see, there are a lot of factors at play.

How To Reduce The NoFap Flatline Symptoms
Time and patience are your most important allies during your reboot.
The only way to completely cure, PIED or get rid of those flatline symptoms is to do a serious PMO reboot.

Everything else you try, aside from rebooting, to mitigate the negative symptoms are to be considered helpful tools only…
…but there are things you can try that may potentially help you.
Let’s take a look at a few of those tools…
How To Reduce Anxiety During The NoFap Flatline
When we develop an addiction to something it literally hijacks the survival mechanism of the brain. This makes your brain think that your addiction is vital for survival.
Then when trying to give it up, of course your brain is going to start protesting and send strong warning signal to you.
Well, one of those signals is anxiety.
Calming self talk…
You need to become good at calmly talking to yourself, telling your brain that “hey, even though it feels like you must use them right now, you really don’t need adult sites”.
It takes some time for this to work, but with a little practice, calming slef talk does indeed work.
Here are some other things that can help calm down your anxiety…
- Limit your caffeine intake.
- Talk a long walk.
- Slow deep breathing 4 seconds in – 6 seconds out.
- Eat foods that contain plenty of magnesium and potassium.
- Take a cold shower
(it has been shown that your stress levels and your pulse rate are significantly lower for the rest of the day, after a cold shower).
- Drink Chamomile tea.
- Try Provanax (the most effective natural anxiety I’ve found so far)

Remember, the anxiety will get better with rebooting, but it may take a long time so you just got do your best do deal with it for now.
Do your best to reduce it, using tools and tricks, but at the end of the day, what you really need is more time away from porn.

How To Increase Motivation During The Flatline
This one is tough!
There are a few things you can try to help with motivation, but you must know that there really are no magic bullets here.
When it comes to action steps you can take, physical exercise is your best bet.

How To Deal With Insomnia During The NoFap Flatline
Many guys are having really big problems with insomnia during flatline. This is probably due to the brains stress center being overly active, which is a common response when trying to quit an addiction.
The best way to deal with this is to talk long slow walks in the evening and stay away from your digital devices as much as possible. Those devices remind your brain of the addiction and thus your brain has a harder time relaxing.
In addition, just like you read about the anxiety a few lines up, here too I recommend taking a cold shower. Two to three hours before bedtime is a great tine to take one and it will for sure help you fall asleep.
And, just as with the anxiety, ProVanax has been a great help for many people with insomnia as well. It really helps both your body and your mind calm down, and thus make you fall asleep much faster.
How To Handle Depression During Flatline
This one is tough.
It’s common that the aggressive urges people experience in the first week slowly turns into waves of depression instead.
It’s different for everyone, but it usually happens somewhere in the second or third week…
…it is like you feel a black hole in your chest, making it hard to find any kind of meaning.
Physical exercise is you best friend here.
That in combination with shortening your time frame. Just focus on getting through today and try not to focus so much on how it feels or how you are going to make it to day 90. Just take one day at a time.
Remember, it is his darkest moments the warrior gets to show what he’s made of!
What About The Lack Of Libido During Flatline?
Well, if you are having a normal flatline then you are supposed to be lacking in libido right now.
It’s a sign that you brain is healing and that it has taken a much needed rest from all things sexual.
This is why I don’t think you should try to do anything about it right now.
Libido not coming back even after a long time?
However, if you have gone for many months now without any signs of libido at all then you might have to “kickstart” it.
For some guys the libido remains “sleeping”, even after fully rebooted, and the best way to wake it up is for you to try to start being sexually active again, even if it feels like something is lacking at first.
NoFap Flatline Symptoms Final Words
Ok so there you have it.
To be sure, there are more symptoms than these, but these are the absolute most common NoFap flatline symptoms guys are reporting.
Some less common, but absolutely not unheard of symptoms are…
- Frequent peeing
- Watery eyes
- Poor short term memory
- Inability to focus
In fact, they are indeed common, but they are not necessarily only linked to the flatline, as they can be experienced as a direct result of PMO addiction, even before or after the flatline hits.
