PMO Addiction Test – Porn Addiction Test!
PMO – Porn Addiction Test
Am I addicted to porn?
Have you ever wondered if you are truly addicted to porn?
I mean, how do you know if you are truly addicted to something or if it just so happens that you enjoy doing it very much?
Well, I have created a porn addiction test for you to try that will hopefully answer your question.
Let's get started…
How to do the PMO addiction test:
You are going to answer the different colored questions below.
- If you answer “NO” to a question, you get a zero score for that question (0)
- If you answer “YES” to a blue question, you get a score of five for that one (5)
- If you answer “YES” to a red question, you get a score of ten for that one (10)
Take a pen and piece of paper and write down your score as you go through the questions.
After you have answered all the questions, add up the numbers to get your final score.
Look at your final score and find your category to see how addicted you are.
Ready for it?
Ok, great, here are the questions…
Take The Porn Addiction Test Now
- Have you escalated and started watching more extreme stuff in order to get the same dopamine buzz?
- Have you many times tried to control your use (either cut down or quit entirely), but always ended up being unsuccessful in your attempt?
- Do you experience strong cravings to PMO when going for some time without it?
- Have you used porn in locations or in ways that could result in immediate harm? (in public places or while driving a car or some machinery of some sort)
- Are you having a low physical response (arousal / libido / delayed ejaculation or erection quality) when being intimate with a real person, while you at the same time get very aroused by porn? (if you don't know or if you haven't been sexually active put 0 points here.)
- Have you noticed negative consequences from your PMO sessions, yet you have continued your use?
- Do you notice compulsion to use? (if unsure about what that is, watch the video below)
- Do you experience withdrawal symptoms when you go for a while without PMO, and do you sometimes PMO just to get rid of those unpleasant feelings? (ex. irritability, anxiety, feelings of being empty, insomnia, sadness, tremors)
- Have you skipped important social gatherings, just so you can be at home and watch porn?
- Have you compromised major obligations in your family life or neglected something important at work or at your school due to Porn?
How to interpret your result..
So to make this clear, if you were to answer “yes” to every question, you would get the max score, which is 75.
If you scored…
- Between 0-10 – You could be addicted, but the probability is very low. If you are, it's certainly a very mild addiction.
- Between 10-25 – There are red flags of you being about to develop a PMO addiction or you may already have a mild addiction. However, on this level, it's still not certain.
- Between 25-40 – It looks like you have a moderate PMO addiction. You have probably developed at least some degree of addiction related brain changes.
- Between 40-60 – With a score this high, it's highly likely that you indeed have developed addiction related brain changes. Everything points to you having a real PMO addiction and your addiction is probably somewhere between moderate and severe.
- Over 60 – You are probably very addicted. Although, we can never say something with 100% certainty, everything here points to you having a severe PMO addiction.
Now, while it's unlikely, I want to point out that it IS possible to score a very high score and still not be a “real” addict. It is also possible to score a low score and still be very addicted. So, you need to take the results with a grain of salt.
Things to keep in mind…
If you never been sexually active, or if you haven't been active in the last 1-2 years and you, because of that, gave yourself a zero score after the question “Are you having a low physical response?”, then you need to keep in mind that your “relative final score”, in theory, might potentially be slightly higher. Or to put it another way, your numbers may be a bit more potent than another guys number.
This is especially true if you score high on the test overall, because then it's resonable to assume that you would also answer “yes” to the sexual question if you recently would have been sexually active.
Recently been sexually active = more accurate test?
However, if you otherwise score low on the whole test, you would most likely also answer “No” to the sexual problem question since you then would probably not have manifested any significant physical problems in that department.
In other words, the whole test is slightly more accurate if you have been sexually active within the last 1-2 years, since you then have one more question testing you. Unless, you scored really low, then it doesn't really matter.
Watch this video I made a while back to get a better understanding of the questions.
You won't find all questions, but in the video I talk about the most important ones.
In the video there are only 7 questions, which means that the PMO addiction test on this page is a bit more accurate than the video. So, please do the test you can find at the top of the page!
What is PMO?
If someone just happened to stumble on this page, without really knowing how they got here, and they now are wondering…
“What the heck is PMO addiction?”
…well, then you should know that PMO stands for Porn – Masturbation – Orgasm and if you have a PMO addiction it basically means that you are addicted to fapping to online pornography.
However, most people use the terms “porn addiction” and “PMO addiction” as one and the same and so will the PMO addiction test on this page, because if you are addicted to PMO then you have a porn addiction, simple as that.
What are addiction related brain changes?
If you score high on the test above you can be pretty sure that you have developed addiction related brain changes. This means real physical changes inside your brain that are associated with addiction.
You see, all addictions share the same fundamental brain changes…
…and these are the most common ones:
- Desensitization
- Hypofrontality
- Sensitization
- A hyperactive stress response
Now, before you freak out, you should also know that it is very possible for the brain to heal, if you stop using your addiction. That is what the who No PMO community is all about.
Desensitization
Desensitization basically means a “numb reward center”.
This is bad because it affects your whole dopamine mechanism and in order to get the most out of life, you just can't be walking around with a disrupted dopamine system.
Desensitization is also behind why we escalate to more extreme adult content because “the normal stuff” no longer give us that same dopamine buzz. Our reward system is just too numb.
Again, take a look at the video above to learn how and why it happens.
Hypofrontality
This means less blood flow to your prefrontal cortex.
The prefrontal cortex (PFC) can be found right behind your forehead and it is your brains “police”. It's the part of your brain that is responsible for self control and the part that prevents you from doing things that you know that are stupid.
Every time you break your own intentions and have a “self control slip”, you are in essence training it to become a bit weaker. Likewise, whenever you successfully win a self-control battle, you are training it to become stronger.
Addictions really mess with your PFC and this makes your overall self control much worse.
Not jus self control related to your addiction, but it has a carryover effect to pretty much everything in life where you need control over your actions.
Sensitization
You are programming your brain with everything you do.
Each time you use your addiction of choice you are forming pathways in your brain to performing that activity. Since high levels of dopamine are involved here it does not take long before those pathways become really strong – dopamine is involved in cementing strong memories – stronger than pathways to “regular” activities in your life.
A sensitized pathway is basically a “super memory of pleasure”.
Have you ever wondered why you tend to relapse as soon as you just peek at some arousal stuff? Or, how alcohol addicts tend to relapse as soon as they just taste a small amount of beer? Well, that's the sensitized pathways at work right there. They fire up and instantly activate that “super memory of pleasure”, often resulting in a relapse.
The sensitized pathways in combination with the weaker prefrontal cortex is the perfect combo for destroying your otherwise good intentions. Those two bandits, working together, are really the biggest reasons for relapses.
Hyperactive stress response
Whenever we develop an addiction it hijacks the part of the brain that is responsible for keeping us, and our genes, safe and sound.
In other words, a part of your brain has started to think that your addiction is vital for survival.
This also means that should you go without it, for some time, your brain might start hammering you with strong negative feelings, like for example…
- Stress
- Anxiety
- Insomnia
- Irritability
PMO Addiction Test Final Words
Those brain changes are quite a nasty thing, but again, remember that once you stop using your drug of choice, the brain will start to heal and recovery is, not only possible, but will for sure happen.
Human beings have the capacity to overcome even the worst form of adversity with the mind, body and spirit intact and it is indeed possible to live a phenomenal life even if you have a history as a severe addict.
