For some guys waiting for libido to come back after rebooting seems like forever…

…it’s not fair is it?

Some get their mojo back after only 60 days, others after 120 days while a few unlucky guys get stuck in “nofap no libido land” in what seems like forever.

So what is going in the last group?

Why do some guys get stuck without libido for a very long time, even after the PMO reboot should be over?

Well, I have a few theories and in today’s blog post I will share my view on this, as well as share a few helpful tips on how to get your libido back after rebooting.

Let’s first get one thing out of the way right from the start…

…this article is for those who have done a good PMO reboot and not for those who tried a “NoFap challenge” for 30 days or so.

If you are one of the guys who are doing NoFap to get all the cool NoFap benefits, that’s all well and good, but some of the guys who were severely addicted to porn, and  went on a mission to reboot thier sexuality, will unfortunately notice that their libido is not coming back after the PMO reboot…

…and this article is mainly for those guys.

If you belong in the later category, there are a few things to consider, and luckily, also a few things you could try to get your libido back.

A 3-Step Process!

It’s a 3 step process and I urge you to read all the steps carefully…

  1. Mindset
  2. Wake your sleeping sexuality (includes action steps for you to take)
  3. Optimize your dopamine and your sex hormones

Let’s take a look at them one by one, and I urge you to really consider them all and not dismiss any of them…

…really, even if one of them is out of whack, that could be enough to stop your libido from returning.


STEP 1

NoFap Libido Not Coming Back
-Mindset-

Rebooting can be a long, painful process and as a result many guys get depressed during this period.

The problem with depression is that it may persist even after the brain has rebooted, and…

…depression is a libido killer. It really is. One of the most common symptoms of depression is no drive and no libido.

I know what I’m talking about here because I have a lot of experience with depression.  Depression alone can make you feel like you’re in an unending flatline…even for guys with no porn addiction problems.

No libido can cause depression and depression can cause no libido…

It can become a real vicious cycle for many guys who lost libido after doing NoFap, or doing a long PMO reboot.

Perhaps the depression started because of the reboot process taking a pretty long time to begin with…

…but then the added depression now makes the reboot seem never ending, because the depression has put your whole sexuality to sleep…

…and so, you libido is gone!

This is actually good news…

When learning that depression can totally kill your libido, perhaps you now  feel like this is a horrible situation impossible to get out of !

Well, realize that this is just your negative thoughts playing tricks on you (when depressed our thoughts are mostly negativ), and also realize that this could actually be good news for you.

You see, it could mean that your reboot is fully over, and all you need to do right now, is to get back your joy for life and BAM!…

Work on your mindset…

Now, of course I do not want to downplay depression, it is a serious issue, and it can take time to get out of that hell, but I wanted to point out to you that perhaps you are already rebooted and that you have not permanently destroyed your sexuality, as so many guys with never-ending reboots fear.

Here are a few things to consider to get out of your depression faster…

  • Talk to someone about how you feel ( I recommend you do this both with a professional and with a friend)
  • Write a gratitude journal (this is more powerful than you think as it will train your brain to look for the positive)
  • Physical exercise ( this one is absolutely vital, you have to keep your body moving in order to get well. Don’t worry, you don’t have to do a demanding crossfit session, if you don’t want to, just taking daily walks of 45 minutes are good enough)
  • Avoid alcohol (alcohol messes with your neurotransmitters, do your best to drastically limit your use or cut it out completely)
  • Avoid sugar and processed foods (also avoid sugar and processed foods as that crap alone can cause depression)
Anxiety can prevent your libido from waking up…

Another thing I want to talk about is anxiety. Constant worrying about why your libido is not coming back can actually prevent it from returning.

Just like depression, anxiety and worry increase your stress hormones and messes with the whole dopamine system in your brain. The combination can really put a lid on your sex drive..

…and even the ability to feel any kind of desire for that matter.

Do NOT sit and wait for your libido to return!

I have said this before, for example in the post NoFap when does libido return?, and I’ll say it again because it is so incredible important…

…the last thing you want to do if your reboot is taking too long is to sit around, with endless anxiety, worrying about your libido and if it will ever return…

  • First, because the chemical response it causes in your brain might very well be enough to prevent your libido from returning.
  • Second, because you need to start taking conscious action to WAKE your sleeping libido…
The solution: Reduce your worrying – Ramp up your living

Now, I hope you are starting to realize that you can not lock yourself inside your house, and in a depressed state, just sitting there waiting and waiting for your libido to return before you go out in life…

No! that would be like saying “I will make a fire before I go out and gather some fire wood”…

…see where I’m getting with that?

You need to go out there FIRST and do all the things that requires a libido, and then your libido will slowly start waking up as a result, because THEN it is needed…

…however, locking yourself inside your house, being depressed and worried…

…no libido needed for that!

Now some of you may be saying, but most guys who are doing NoFap or a PMO reboot, seem to be able to just wait and then after some time the libido returns!

Yes, that’s true, but remember now some rebooters are unlucky and get stuck in “no libido land”, and THEY need to approach this in a bit differently.

 Start taking actions to wake your sleeping libido

So, now we are getting somewhere.

You need to start getting out there and start living and not only that…

…start taking conscious action to wake up your sleeping libido!

Wake Your Sleeping Libido

After a long PMO reboot we have not been using the sexual center in the brain for a long time, and that’s all good, but for some guys the libido seem to remains sleeping…

…even after the reboot is done.

The solution to this is to actively start doing things that your reptilian brain can link to reproduction.

Let’s take a look at a few different things that can be helpful when you want to wake your sleeping libido.

Sign up for dance classes!

You need to start spending a lot, and I men A LOT more time with real life girls.

Our sexuality is normally in charge here, naturally giving us drive to go out and seek opportunities. But right now, you are lacking libido so YOU have to step in and take charge, forcing yourself to go out and spend time around girls.

Dancing will help your sleeping libido

Dancing is one of the best activities you can do to rewire your sexuality.

Think about it, for an hour or so you are spending time with many different women, being very close to them and using most of your senses…

  • Touch
  • Smell
  • Sight
  • Hearing

When you get home from your dance class, your brain will start processing this and this is when it eventually will start telling your sexual center in your brain something like…

“hey, stop sleeping, there are hot females in our lives now, we need you here!”

Now, don’t expect this to happen after your very first class (although it might) as it will probably happen gradually.

Start dating again and then…fantasize!

You may perhaps not feel like dating without having any drive, but as I told you earlier in the article, the last thing you want to do right now is to put your life on hold, just sitting there at home, waiting for your libido to return…

…no, you need to get out there and start dating!

If you feel too anxious, make it a low pressure date and just tell her, “Let’s go for a nice walk”. That’s much easier than a dinner or even just a cup of coffee.

When you get home – Start fantasizing about her

I realize the “creep warning” here, but this is how we are ment to function to begin with, to meet real life girls and then fantasize about them…

When you get home from your date, start imagining…

  • Laughing with her
  • Holding her
  • Hugging and kissing
  • Having slow gentle sex

Still feel too creepy?

Well, let me ask you this, what is more creepy, fantasizing in a natural way like this, or watching all kinds of extremely weird hardcore porn while secretly staring at girls in real life that you don’t have the guts to talk t…

…like you were doing before you started rebooting ?

Why fantasize? What if we already did all that for real?

All the better!

Of course the goal is to do all of it in real life, but if you didn’t on your very first date, you should start fantasizing immediately after the date, if you like the girl of course…

…and even if things really did happen for real, you should still fantasize when you get home, and continue being intimate with here in your thoughts to further help your sleeping libido.

Start having sex

By dancing, dating or just spending a lot of time around women, you might be able to wake your sleeping libido before it comes to sex, but there is also a big chance you won’t…

…and in that case, you should start having sex. Many guys need to have sex a few times to kickstart their libido.

It might feel weird and even a bit scary to have sex with no libido, but if you have done a long reboot and your libido is not returning on its own, you just need to start…

…the libido will follow. This is just the way it is for many guys, myself included.

You might want to stay away from, or limit your orgams in the start though, and slowly add them in. The reason for this is unclear, but it has been shown to be a good approach for most guys.

But what if I fail?

I’m not going to lie, chances for failure are pretty high in the beginning.

It’s scary going for it with low libido, or even a complete lack of it, and on top of that we add performance anxiety into the mix, which in and of itself can cause ED.

Thoughts like…

  • What if I go soft?
  • What if there is no response in my penis at all?
  • What if I fail completely, it get’s extremely awkward and I will get a massive depression?

…and so on.

Well, those are normal anxious thoughts. They are very unpleasant, but the truth is they are not reason enough for keeping you locked inside your house…

…you…just…need…to…start!

So what if you fail? Sure it will be painful, but it’s not like there won’t be a second chance. In fact, we fail at first with everything we do in life, why should sex be any different? Especially if we’ve been out of the game for a long time…

…heck, I wouldn’t even like to use the word “fail” here, as being close and intimate with a nice person is healthy in every way, even if there is no penetration. Besides…

…most girls are very understanding.

There are things you can do to increase your chances of success…

If you been on NoFap for a good amount of time, or to put it another way, if you done your PMO reboot, chances are your androgen receptors and your dopamine receptors are now very sensitive, which is a very good thing…

…BECAUSE that means dopamine and testosterone have the potential to have much more effect on you now, then before you rebooted…

…that is good news, because dopamine and testosterone are the two biggest players when it comes to having a strong sex drive as well as strong and full erections.

So if you were to optimize your bodys natural testosterone and dopamine production, you would increase your chances of waking you sleeping libido and thus significantly increase your chances of success in the bedroom…

…this leads us to “STEP 3″…

Optimize Your Dopamine And Sex Hormones

There are several ways to optimize your dopamine and testosterone production and we are going to take a look at a few of them here…

…but let’s start with the fastest and perhaps the most effective way…

Taking cold showers on a regular basis does also increase testosterone production. Now, some YouTuber’s claim that this is just a myth, but it isn’t.

Well, I love experimenting with different things and a couple of years ago I had a big “testosterone raising” project going on in my life.

I tested everything and took A LOT of blood samples to see how my bodys natural testosterone production responded, and let me tell you this…

…cold showers really does boost testosterone. Well, at least for me. I can’t speak for all men on the planet just as not one single “YouTuber” out there can tell me that cold showers doesn’t raise my testosterone levels, because the blood tests don’t lie, and I took plenty of them.

By combining AlphaViril and cold showers at the same time, as well as tweaking my diet and strength training, I actually managed to get my own testosterone levels up to 980 ng/dL.

Not bad for a middle aged man. In fact, not bad for a man at any age…

Physical exercise…

Of course you also need to do physical exercises. This is extremely important if you want your NoFap libido returning, or shall we say your post reboot libido.

Physical exercise also increase the number of D2 dopamine receptors, as well as BDNF (brain derived neurotrophic factor), which is a protein that helps promote the growth of new brain cells.

Physical exercise also increase dopamine itself, along with serotonin and it  lowers the stress hormon cortisol, as long as you don’t overtrain…

…on top of all this, physical exercise also boost your testosterone levels.

So much good in one package!

Strength training…

Strength training is better than cardio when it comes to increasing testosterone, as long as you don’t overdo it.

You want to focus mostly on big compound movements like squats, deadlifts, bench press and pull ups / chin ups.

Here are some things to consider…

  • Use heavy weights with a low rep range (3-7 reps)
  • Take plenty of rest between sets (1-3 minutes)
  • Don’t make your gym sessions too long (personally I avoid going over 45 minutes…sometimes they get a bit longer but my goal is about 45 minutes)

Meditate to get your libido back after PMO reboot…

 

 

So how can meditation help?

Well, daily meditation significantly reduce anxiety and worry as well as reduces depression, and as you remember from earlier in this article those things play A BIG part in why a persons libido may remain sleeping.

On top of that, according to studies, mediation can actually boost your dopamine levels by up to 60%…

…that is pretty darn impressive.

If you don’t like meditation, I hear you, I don’t like it either. But I still do it. Just 10 minutes a day is enough to start reaping the benefits, however, this does not happen from your very first session…

…you need to do it regularly and the effects will build up over time.
