Does PMO Cause Premature Ejaculation ?
Many people who are about to start rebooting are asking “does PMO cause premature ejaculation?”…
…so, in this blog post we are going to take a look at that, and in the later part, I also share some helpful tips on how to last longer in bed, should that be something that you are struggling with.
PMO can indeed cause PE (premature ejaculation). One reason for this is that masturbating in front of the computer, in a sitting position, causes tight and short pelvic floor muscles. This can result in both weaker erections as well as premature ejaculation. There are more reasons, and in this article we will take a closer look at those.
Does PMO Lead To PE?
PMO (porn masturbation orgasm) can indeed cause premature ejaculation. It can also cause delayed ejaculation or even an inability to orgasm altogether. And many of you probably already know that it can indeed also cause porn induced erectile dysfunction…
…nice huh?
The following is a common progression when addicted to PMO (It does not have to look the same for everyone though)
- The guy starts to experience worse PE with his partner
- After some time, followed by lower reactions to porn sites
- Followed by a general drop in libido
- Now delayed ejaculation becomes an issue
- And lastly the guy can no longer achieve an erection
There are a few things at play here. First, when a guy sits in front of the computer fapping to porn, often for hours on end, he starts to clench his levator ani, also called pc muscle, or pelvic floor muscles. This will undoubtedly result in a pelvic floor that is way to tight, and that my friends…
…will often cause premature ejaculation.
It is porn that is the problem
Note that it is not masturbation in and of itself that is the problem, but as the brain gets more and more desensitized, by all the high stimulating porn, the guy starts to clench his pc muscles to help push the blood into the penis in order to maintain an erection during his long porn sessions…
…this is NOT good, especially if done in a sitting position.
Now, it IS possible to masturbate in a relaxed manner, in a way that does not cause PE, but when mixing porn into the equation it often leads to destructive habits resulting in all kinds of problems further down the road, like I just described…
…but other than that, as you probably know by now, there are also physical brain changes that take place when a person becomes addicted to porn. These are even nastier, as they often take longer to reverse than a tight pelvic floor.
Training the brain to cum too quickly
Another thing that may be at play here is training the nervous system and brain to ejaculate too quickly. Some guys go at it hard with the porn, with one goal in mind only, the orgasm. If these fapping sessions are done in a fast and furious way, then of course this is how he trains his nervous system…
…with the result being premature ejaculation.
Will Edging Cause PE During Sex in The Near Future?
For many people edging will also cause premature ejaculation when they finally get to have real sex on the weekend a few days later…
…that is, IF they are in the early stages of porn addiction. However, since edging means to drag on, prolonging the session and playing on the edge of orgasm, the PE that follows is not the result of training your nervous system, but more so from the tight pelvic floor muscles.
As the porn addiction progresses it is actually more common that the edging causes delayed ejaculation and then finally even bigger problems: an inability to achieve a full erection with a real life partner. Or if the porn user still can get erect, the erection quality is far from optimal.
NoFap Can Also CAUSE Premature Ejaculation
But Don't Freak Out – Here's The Deal:
Busting too quickly from NoFap?
After having done a successful pmo reboot many guys will experience pretty bad PE the first couple of times during sex. This is normal as the both the brain and penis has become more sensitive to stimuli…
…don't worry though, if you successfully rebooted, this will most likely get better after a few tries, and, listen to this…
…you will actually be able to last longer in bed after having been on you nofap journey then before you started. So, yes, nofap does help you last longer in bed.
Speaking of worry, worry and anxiety can in and of itself cause premature ejaculation, and this leads me to the next subheading…
Anxiety can also cause PE
Another reason is of course anxiety, as anxiety speeds up the signaling in the sympathetic nervous system, and since the sympathetic part of your nervous system is responsible for ejaculation then this will often result in PE.
For me personally I can say that anxiety was my biggest problem after my reboot, and even though I was fully recovered my nerves always got the better of me. It wasn't until I tried the natural anxiety supplement ProVanax that I got over this embarrassing hump.
I had to use it for about a month before I gained confidence enough to be able to last longer. After that point, there was no longer any problems and I could stop using the supplement. If interested you can click here to read more about the anxiety supplement ProVanax.
Tips For Lasting Longer In Bed After Your PMO Reboot
Tip #1 Accept it
If you are on a NoFap journey and you have not had any sexual stimuli for weeks to months, then it's only natural that your first few tries will…
…well, suck! (sorry to put it so bluntly).
You are better off coming to terms with this and not to beat yourself up about it because that will only make things worse. Laugh about it with your partner, rest for a while and then go for a second round. Chances are the second round will already be better.
Tip #2 Stretch you pelvic floor muscles
This is something I also talk about in my article Does nofap help you last longer in bed. You might want to check that article out as well, because in that post I talk more about PE and give additional tips on how to overcome it.
Anyway, back to the stretching. You need to fix your tight pelvic flor muscles that you caused by all the fapping in front of the computer.
This is best done by going down in a squat position (as deep as you can go…ass to grass), using a pretty wide stance and then stay down in that position for about a minute or so. Use a wider stance than what you can see on the picture to the right.
- While stretching, breath deeply.
- Try to imagine breathing down into your balls.
- Relax the pelvic floor and try to really feel the stretch
- Stay down for 1-2 minutes, do something else for a couple of minutes, then repeat.
After about two weeks of doing this on a daily basis, you should start to at least see some results. After that, keep going for a few more weeks. Even if you fix your muscles, the squat stretching is still a good thing to do to keep the muscles flexible and for having good blood flow to the nether regions.
Tip #3 Eat more potassium and magnesium
Potassium and magnesium help relax your muscles, but more importantly, they help stimulate your parasympathetic nervous system. And as you remember from earlier, the parasympathetic part of your CNS counteracts your sympathetic part, which is responsible for giving you premature ejaculation.
Here are some foods you should eat more of. These foods are rich in BOTH potassium and magnesium…
- Dark chocolate
- Avocados
- Salmon (or other fatty fish)
- Spinach
- Almonds
- Peanuts
- Cashews
- Walnuts
Tip #4 Prosoultion+ can make you last much longer!
Posolution+ is a natural product that has a proven track record for helping PE.
Not only that, they have even made studies with control groups to create data on just exactly how effective the product is.
This is an easy solution that actually works, and it is perhaps the fastest working of all the tips you can find on this site.
Now, unlike the daily stretching, and the breathing exercises, of course this is an option that will cost you some money ( you can click here to check the price at online vendor ), but it is an easy and effective solution nevertheless, and you should also know that this is the most effective solution of all the tips on this entire page, so it definitely deserves to be on the “NoFap premature ejaculation tools list”.
Tip #5 Do breathing exercises
In order to slow down the activity in your sympathetic nervous system and increase the activity in your parasympathetic part you want to breath slowly.
So now some of you may say, “but I can't breath slowly during sex”, to which my respons is, yes you can, with a bit of practice! Well, perhaps not if you are going at it like they do in the porn you used to watch, but you most certainly can if you are making love and you are having slow gentle sex.
Or do it before…
If you still find it too difficult to focus on slow breathing during sex then you should know that breathing deeply and slowly for the minutes leading up to sex may also help.
Research has shown that getting your breathing down to about 6-8 breaths a minute will significantly increase the activation in your parasympathetic part, which is what we want.
This is not as difficult as it sounds. If you were to get your breathing down to, for example 5 seconds in and five seconds out, you are already down to 6 breaths per minute. You don't even have to go that slow…
…4 seconds in and 4 or 5 seconds out will also work. Maybe even 3 seconds in and 4 seconds out. That is still a lot slower then you normally breath and a heck of a lot slower than you breath when you are anxious.
Tip #6 Eat more zinc
I personally use a good Zinc supplement because it helps to keep testosterone levels high. Most of us like having high testosterone levels, for all kinds of other benefits, but testosterone levels aside, did you know that researchers have found al link between low levels of Zinc and not being able to last in bed?
Yes, this is indeed an issue and if you are interested you can click here to find a study on pubmed made ont that.
Some foods that are high in Zinc…
- Oysters
- Beef
- Tofu
- Pork chops
- Hemp seeds
- Oatmeal (personally I don't like this one as I think most of us should avoid grains)
There are some foods for you to try, but I highly recommend also supplementing with a good Zinc supplement. Supplementing with about 10-30 milligrams of zinc per day could potentially double the time you last in bed. It's not expensive either, you can click here to check pricing for a good brand over at Amazon.
Tip #7 Drink chamomile te for a week, leading up to sex
Chamomile tea has been proven to have relaxing properties and as you probably learned by now, anything that helps you to be more relaxed, also increase parasympathetic nervous system activation, and thus…
…help you last longer in bed!
Now, of course, just sipping on a cup of chamomile may not be that potent, and sure, it may perhaps not help you at all. But, it is cheap, it tastes good and it CAN potentially help a bit so it's definitely worth a try.
For best effects you should drink it several days in a row, leading up to the day of having sex. And, of course, also drink it on the day of having sex…
…why not make a habit out of it. Drink it on a daily basis…
…it's good for you.
Tip #8 Realize she will probably find it flattering
I know that, if suffering from premature ejaculation during your NoFap journey is a big issue for you, you might not want to hear this, but for the most part, this is really the case. This is especially true if you say something like “oh, damn, you're just so hot I can not control myself”…
…oh how flattering that is for most girls to hear, and their little ego's will soar.
Now, granted if it happens every single time, then yeah, I'm not going to lie, she will probably get disappointed…
…and in that case, you should consider trying some or ALL of the tips on this page. Just like men, women also want to have good sex, and always ejaculating within 10 seconds is not going to be good for your relationship, long term.
Tip #9 Practice the “start stop” technique
This is something that sexologists recommend doing with a partner and on your own. Now, since my website is dedicated to guys trying to quit fapping to porn I am NOT going to recommend you start practicing this with masturbation…
…that said, IF you do, for the love of whatever that you find holy, DO NOT do it to porn. If you do, we are back to the very beginning of this entire blog post, where we started with answering the question Does PMO cause premature ejaculation?
The start stop technique with your partner…
Why not practice the start stop technique with your partner?
Now, I understand this is not something that one casually suggest to a one night stand, so that's pretty much out of the question, however, if you are in a loving relationship then it is a whole other ballgame and a very good thing to do.
The start stop technique is done by your partner stimulating your penis until you reach the point of almost busting a nut. You should then stop and rest for 30 seconds and then start again. Repeat this cycle for many sets and you will train your nervous system to be able to last longer before reaching climax.
I do need to point out that this takes quite a lot of practice and patience, but so what? It's not like it's unpleasant for you, right? …
…so enjoy the journey 🙂

Tip #10 Do reverse kegel exercises (MUST READ!!!)
Right from the start I need to point out that this IS NOT the normal kegel exercise that each and every other YouTube video / blog about sexual health are recommending.
LISTEN: if we are have tight pelvic floor muscles, which I would guess that at least 90% of porn addicts have, due to all the sitting in front of the laptop while fapping, then doing normal kegel exercises will make things worse…
…so do NOT do normal kegel exercises!
So what is a “normal kegel exercise”?
If I told you to suddenly stop the flow of urine in the middle of your toilet session you would have to tighten the small muscles between your penis and your anus right? Well, this is what normal kegel exercises are doing. When doing kegel exercises you are flexing that area and holding it tight for a few seconds, then resting for a few seconds and then repeating…
…flex…relax…flex…relax, etc…
…of course you are doing the exercise away from the toilet. I merely mentioned your holy toilet session to make sure you understand how to flex the muscles we are talking about here. But again, this is NOT what you should be training if you have a history of fapping to porn…
…especially if you have been doing it in a sitting position.
So what is a “reverse kegel exercise” then?
Ah, now we are getting closer to a good exercise for you. We are still talking about the same area, the area between your anus and penis here, but let's take your toilet session again and have you imagine it a bit differently…
…imagine that you are standing there, urinating again and it feels good. Ahh…now, if I again were to disturb you in the middle of your peeing and tell you to try to push out the flow of urine in a faster pace so that the stream rushes out…
…well now, THAT motion is a reverse kegel and THIS is something you can, and should be doing on a regular basis.
- Hold the reverse kegel for 5 seconds then relax for 5 seconds (imagine pushing out the urine)
- Do this for 10 reps
- Rest for about 1-2 minutes and repeat the 10 reps
- Rest for another 1-2 minutes and then repeat one last time the same 10 reps
So, to sum it up, you do 3 sets of 10 reps with 1-2 minutes of rest in between the sets…
…got it?
Good! This will help you reverse your tight pelvic floor muscles and it also helps with developing more control over your penis in every way (in the long run).
I also recommend that you sometimes combine the reverse kegels with the stretching I talk about in tip #2. Not in every stretch you do, but every now and again when in the down position of the squat, also add the reverse kegel.
Sure, you can do the normal kegel exercise as well, but IF so, you should ONLY do that after you are certain that you have fixed your tight pelvic flor, and that can take weeks to months, so when in doubt…
…leave them out!

F.A.Q's About PMO And Premature Ejaculation
Q: Wouldn't going on a long NoFap streak only make premature ejaculation worse?
A: No. NoFap will probably help you. However, of course your first few times after being on a long streak of abstinence will be over quickly. That is to be expected. But after the porn and your fapping is out of your life, you will most likely learn to have much more control over your ejaculations. Especially if you start practicing the reverse kegels. You can even do them during the sex to help you last longer. So again, NoFap will most likely help you, and not make it worse. Not only that, sex will also feel much better than when you were addicted to porn. Hurray for real life, right? 🙂
Q: I once ejaculated from only peeking a few seconds on porn while on a long nofap streak, is there something wrong with me?
A: Believe it or not, this is actually pretty normal and I have read about many guys experiencing the same. You have conditioned yourself, by years of porn use. Your reward center has linked porn to orgasm. After about two weeks into a reboot the sensitized pathways in your brain actually becomes stronger, so a trigger or peeking at porn may have surprisingly powerful effects on guys who are addicted. So much so that we might even experience ejaculation without masturbating. Don't worry about it, just try to not peek and keep rebooting. Say “yes” to real people, and “no” to pixels on the screen and you will be recovered in no time.
Q: I don't believe in the nofap theory!
A: Ok, who cares? Ask me something if you want, but don't just send me completely uninteresting statements about your personal opinions. I don't even know you.
