Can Soft-Core Porn Also Cause PIED? (Bad During Reboot?)

Can Soft-Core Porn Also Cause PIED?

Since the introduction of porn tube sites with streaming functions were introduced, around 2006-2007, a new phenomenon has taken the world by storm.

Namely: porn induced erectile dysfunction (PIED).

There are now millions of guys, from all around the world, who can no longer get it up with a real life partner.

These guys have been using so much stimulating porn that they have become completely dependent on it to achieve and maintain a solid erection.

Shocking as it is, it’s no longer news…

Since this phenomenon has been around for more than 10 years now, it’s no longer something that is new under the sun.

By now, many guys have heard that this is indeed something that can happen if they keep over-consuming all that super stimulating porn…

…but what if you only were to watch soft-core porn?

Can watching soft-core porn also cause PIED?

Yes, soft-core porn can also cause PIED if you consume it online. Granted it is much more common to see guys who have escalated into all kinds of hardcore stuff suffer from it, but PIED can also be caused by soft-core porn. You have to remember that the reward system in your brain doesn’t put clear definitions on porn. It only know what’s arousing to you.

Your brain does not know what “porn” is…

It’s the delivery system -the internet and its unending novelty- in combination with what YOU find arousing that are the important factors behind PIED.

If you’ve been wondering if soft core porn can cause PIED then you need to understand that your reward system does not differentiate between what kind of porn you’re fapping to.

Sounds strange, right?…

…but think about it…

It’s about what YOU find exciting…

All that happens is that it’s either sexually arousing or not.

Let’s say you get enormously turned on by swimsuit models. You often masturbate with multiple tabs open, for hours at end, switching from model to model. Well, you could then be conditioning yourself to need that rapid switch between models in combination with unending novelty in order to maintain a a solid erection, and voilà, there you have it; porn induced ED.

Now, the example above is not defined as “real porn”, by most people. Yet if you were to find it extremely sexually arousing, it doesn’t matter since PIED is mostly caused by a combination of desensitization and conditioning.

So have we seen PIED cases caused by soft-core porn?

Answer: yes.

I remember Gary Wilson, from the website Yourbrainoporn talking about it on several occasions.

He once mentioned a gentleman who used several hundreds of swimsuit models during his masturbation sessions and he developed PIED as a result.

It is not very common though…

Now, while it is technically possible to develop PIED from soft-core porn, it is indeed much more common with hardcore porn.

Also, if it happens it happens online, and not through magazines, DVD’s or movies on TV.

The typical scenario is, guys getting desensitized and bored by all the vanilla stuff. They then escalate and start seeking out harder and more extreme stuff, until finally, nothing does it for them any longer.

So, that’s much more common and I would estimate that less than 3% of people with PIED have developed their problem form only using soft-core porn. But that’s just my rough estimate from everything I have read during my 10 years in the rebooting community and not something I’ve seen studies on, so do not quote me on that.

Will I recover faster if I have PIED caused by soft-core porn?

The short answer is, no one knows, but probably not.

My personal guess is that it’s more about what your fapping sessions looked like, then what you were watching.

My guess is that: if you did it for hours at end, with multiple tabs open, several times a week, well then it doesn’t matter if it was soft-core porn or hardcore porn. If you found it arousing, then the binging sessions, as just described, is what desensitized you and rewired your sexuality….

…and thus, the recovery time will probably not be any different.

Now, sure, you might still recover quicker than others, but in that case it’s probably because the fact that every reboot is unique and not because you were using soft-sore porn.

Some guys just heal quicker than others, it’s as simple as that.

Again, remember that your brain only care about what you found arousing. It doesn’t care about what society defines as “real porn”.

How do I heal from PIED caused by soft-core porn?

You fix PIED caused by soft-core porn in the exact same way that you fix PIED caused by hardcore porn, by cutting out the artificial stimuli (the soft-core or hard-core porn, or whatever use used) and by spending more time around real life people.

That process is called “rebooting” or doing a “pmo reboot”.

I have written a few articles on the best way to do this (and also the fastest way) that you might be interested in taking a closer look at.

Here they are…

Please take your time and read those articles. There’s so much information and helpful tips in them, that you’ll be glad you did.

If my PIED is caused by hardcore stuff, can I reverse it while I keep watching soft-core?

This one is easy to answer.

You should absolutely avoid doing that!

This is because, if you do, you keep feeding your addiction and you keep reinforcing the same pathways in your brain that’s causing you PIED in the first place (sexual conditioning to a screen). And thus you are keeping your PIED alive and well.

So, if you have PIED, do NOT do that.

Can soft-core porn also cause ED?
Conclusion and final words…

So, in conclusion:

Yes, soft-core porn can also cause ED.

If it happens it happens with the use of internet and not through magazines, DVD’s or movies on TV.

However, because of the addictive nature of porn it’s much more common that guys who have PIED also have escalated into harder and more extreme types of porn.

So, yes, it can happen, but it’s fairly rare if the person has only watched pictures or soft-core and not escalated in any way shape or form.

Thanks for reading.
